The cold spell has broken, the sun is shining and I’m so hopeful that Spring is literally around the corner. Spring always makes me feel optimistic and motivated to try new things, especially in the kitchen. When it is cold and dreary I get lazy and rely on old standbys to get survive. With the temperature rising, I’ve been pouring over recipes and come up with these 6 things that you need for a little spring kitchen inspiration.

Paleta or Ice Pop Molds
I just bought these and I’ve been using them like crazy since they arrived in the mail. No matter how cold it was these past few weeks, I felt just a bit happier enjoying an Ice Pop like these Coconut Blackberry Lime Paletas. I like that these molds have a classic shape and use old school popsicle sticks. Plus, they are easy to remove from the mold.
Cinco de Mayo is coming up and if you want to enjoy it in style, than this set is a cheap and cheerful way to do that. A margarita always tastes better when it is in a margarita glass and you are enjoying them in bulk 🙂
Nut Milk Bag
January if often the month when people start to focus more on nutrition, fitness and overall wellness. I fall into that trap a little bit but I get energized when the sun is out and I can enjoy the outdoors. We completed the Whole30 in January and it has changed the way we think about what we put in our bodies. Everything is a conscious decision now, including minimizing additives and ingredients we can’t pronounce. Making my own almond milk has been on my-to list for some time and now I’m following through. If you have a Vitamix or high powered blender you can easily make your own non-dairy milk but the filtration or nut milk bag is a necessity.

Fresh Lemon or Lime Zest always perks me up. The lemon zest totally makes these Vanilla Lemon Blueberry Muffins but would also be tasty added to your paletas. This gadget costs less than $10 and is versatile: can be used for grating parmesan, ginger, chocolate and more.
Now this is a 1 gallon dispenser and I actually have an 8 gallon one but this smaller, personal size is perfect for storing in the fridge and ensuring that you are drinking enough H2O every day. Since I’ve stopped drinking store bought soda and am increasing my water intake, I love to fill up my dispenser and add sliced fruits. It makes drinking water less of a chore and helps infuse guilt-free flavour. So many flavour options so little time. A bigger size is of course great for entertaining and making party sized Sangria so you can relax with your guests instead of mixing drinks.
I can’t wait to get grilling again. The pile of snow between my kitchen deck and the grill has been daunting. I’m not one to put on my boots and coat and head outside to grill in the middle of the winter. Luckily, my husband is a wiz with the cast iron skillet so we get by but I can’t wait to start grilling burgers, sausages, steaks. The part we don’t like so much? Cleaning the grill. I’m excited to try these grill mats which are super thin and help keep your grill clean while you still get all the benefits and flavour of the grill. Think how easy it would be to also grill veggies or even fruit with these mats without the need for various grill baskets (which also need cleanup).
