Smoothie Preferences
We all have our preferences when it comes to smoothies. For example, I really, really need it to be just that – smooth. This was one of the main factors in getting a Vitamix Pro 750. Have I told you all just how much I love this blender lately? Some people like adding ice to make sure it is super cold, others like adding lots of added proteins and superfoods or even sprinkling add-ons on top before serving.
My only requirement to date has been smooth but I may be adding airy to the list. I didn’t even know it was possible to make something with 5 ingredients and have it seem as light as air but this was exactly what happened. I should have weighed the ingredients before and after blending because I’m almost certain I witnessed magic happening.
Spinach + Blueberry = Awesome
You really do need to try this Spinach Blueberry smoothie. Really simple to make and while its “green” it ends up this really cool purple colour. I was pleasantly surprised after Day 2’s experiment ended up a little on the brown side. Here’s a picture of the spinach blended with the milk before adding the blueberries as proof.
I really do like blending the greens and liquid a bit first before adding everything in though I doubt it is necessary with the Vitamix. Old habits, built from old blenders, can be hard to break.
I’d love to hear from you if you have any other examples of smoothies that are this light and airy. In the meantime, keep blendin’ on!
