Nutella Smoothie

Okay, I’m a bit obsessed with Nutella.  My daughter loves it – I can get her to eat almost anything if it is smothered in this creamy chocolate hazelnut yumminess.  We’ve been joking about covering chicken in it as we try to increase K’s protein intake.  Bacon is still the only type of meat product that we can get her to eat.  Perhaps she is destined to be a vegetarian or vegan (which is ok by me) but if that’s the case she is really going to need to start eating veggies 🙂   She is failing miserably.

I shared previously the easiest 3-ingredient Nutella Milkshake.  Super simple and delicious. This time around I wanted something that was a little more filling and a little less of a treat but still delicious. Instead of using frozen yogurt, I literally froze my yogurt. In this case, I placed 1 cup of greek vanilla flavoured yogurt into the freezer for 3-4 hours until firm.  I had never really thought about doing this before but after a little bit of research on the internet it seems that this is a totally legit thing to do.  You can actually extend the life of your yogurt for up to 4-6 months…in my case, it will be gone long before that time.

Add a frozen banana and some milk to your frozen yogurt and Nutella and Voila! A tasty, thick and satisfying Nutella smoothie. So good that I was literally moving that straw around trying to get every last drop. There may have even been a finger swipe around the inside off the glass.  I will neither confirm nor deny it.  I was out of Vanilla flavoured protein powder or I would have also added some to kick this up a notch but will definitely try this in the future.

  1. I’m sure you could but might be a bit difficult to get a consistent blend. Maybe I’ll give it a try next time around. It will be a bit of a workout if nothing else 🙂
